Getting Started

Here is some information on how we will get this project under way!

File Transferring

Email

You can send most of your content to me by email, especially the text for your web pages and blog posts. The email address is web@scanway.net.

Dropbox

If you have more than 10 images to send me, or if you have very large files, Dropbox is an excellent file sharing platform to use. If you don’t have a Dropbox account I will set one up especially for the project, and share the folder with you via email. You can upload photos and images there, and you also have the option of uploading your texts, as Word documents or PDF files etc.

The Process

Here is how we will move forward.

Step 1 - Setup, Layout and Design

I will start with the back-end setup, and from there move on to the basic layout and structure of the website. This is one of the most time consuming parts of creating the website. All this will be done off-site, so that if you already have a website on your domain it will have minimum downtime. I will create the framework and a mock-up of the site, and send the homepage and a sub-page (or more) to you for approval.

Step 2 - Development

Once you have approved the site layout and design I will move forward with the development of the site. This involves designing all the pages and their functionality, entering your content and optimizing all images. I will make sure that your sites looks great and functions right on all types of devices and web browsers.

Step 3 - Review and Revise

Once the site is ready I will invite you to review all pages, and we can make any final revisions and edits to make sure you are happy with the site.

Ready to Launch

Final Steps

Once the site is ready to go live I will clean up the backend, removing unnecessary plugins, images, pages and files. I will then move the site to your domain, and I will backup the site, should it ever need to be restored. We are ready for launch!

After completion you will receive some tips on how to market your new website, as well as information about other services that I provide, such as our Maintenance packages, which I highly recommend.

Please feel free to email me if you have any questions.
Also, if you haven’t had a chance yet, please fill out the website questionnaire.
